Fiji Mosques to Welcome Vaccinated Members

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Fiji Muslim League’s general secretary said only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to enter the mosques in the country as of Monday, October 4.

 

Saiyad Hussain said members are requested to switch on their CareFiji app.

He added that physical distancing of two meters will be maintained and those coming for prayers must wear face masks at all times to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Fiji Village reported.

According to Hussain, all those coming to mosques for Juma (Friday) prayers are advised to come early for registration and no one will be allowed inside the mosque without registration.

He urged members to leave the mosque immediately after conducting prayers and refrain from getting into groups.

A country in the South Pacific, Fiji is an archipelago of more than 300 islands.

There are about 60,000 followers of Islam in Fiji, most of them Sunni Muslims.
